Sleek drawers, well - made

Stylish drawers that are fairly easy to assemble. The colours are muted, so they blend well with our existing furniture. The quality is good. it feels durable. There is less dust for our books and other keepsakes when compared with our open bookshelves.

A Quality, Sturdy and Robust Flat Pack Sideboard

This cabinet is all of the above in the title but it’s also quite classy once it’s fully built. There are no tools supplied in the pack as is sometimes the case but in any event, you’re only going to need a screwdriver and possibly a small hammer to tap in the plastic dowels. All parts necessary for the build have been bundled into one bag making it seem at first glance that this is about to be a daunting task, however, once you’ve separated out the parts, you’ll realise there’s not much to constructing the unit.Like many of these instruction pamphlets, you’re going to benefit from using a magnifying glass if you have one, but all in all, as far as flat-pack assembly instructions are concerned, these are not the worst and you’ll soon get the hang of it. Once you’ve figured out which holes are for dowels and which are for the screw in camshafts and cam-locks, you could have all your fixings in place and ready to assemble. Over my lifetime I’ve assemble countless amounts of flat-packs and I reckon this has got to be one of the easiest.Once completed and the doors hung, you realise how lovely a piece of furniture this is, and although the style of this unit could place it in any room, we’ve decided on our bedroom for its final location. I would suggest at this point that you assemble the cabinet in the room it is likely to remain in as it has a fair weight to it due to its robust manufacture. The cabinet is a lovely shade of light grey which works well with the wood effect back board and thick top.In summary, this is a well-designed quality cabinet that is both robust and classy in equal measures and worthy of the full five stars.

I assembled it on my own but it'd be easier with two people

This wasn't too hard to assemble with a manual screwdriver but there's over 150 parts involved, including lots of screws. There are dowels that hold surfaces together while you are dealing with the screw bolt fastenings that use a locking nut commonly found in furniture. I'm not sure of the name but they're easy to use. However, I've docked a star because they've used mostly cardboard packaging which is environmentally sound and appreciated but instead of using normal short furniture dowel, they've somehow found a supplier of plastic dowel. What is the point of generating more plastic just to replace readily available and perfectly eco friendly small bits of cheap wood that do the job better anyway? Wooden down actually binds to wood well over time. I'm not sure it does the same to chipboard but it's not the actual main source of strength anyway it just helps guide the pieces together and provide backup to the steel screws. I'm sure the plastic ones work well enough but it's silly in this day and age.It was easy enough to assemble but use two people if available because it's quite tedious. Hanging the doors was the hardest part because I didn't understand how the hinges really work. They have two screws on them, one attaches the hinge to the bracket that you slide it onto inside the cabinet. The other actually repositions the doors left to right as you face them. When I closed mine the first time, the doors met in the middle and had to be closed at the same time. But I was able to use the second screw to move them left and right and make sure they ended up both perfectly vertical and far enough apart to open with no friction. It would have been great if the manual were A4 not A5 as I had to use a magnifying glass to understand any of it, and it didn't explain the hinges well at all.Now it's assembled though it's going to be very useful for tidying up my disaster zone of an office.
